This is an inexpensive casting set that will help you build all your other tooling and models. It is perfect for a beginner’s project. This die filer is a replica of a turn of the century (circa 1900) filing machine which originally was used for filing sheet metal dies. The die filer is used for deburring, filing at angles, general filing and cleaning. In addition to files, you can use saws and laps. Common files may be used with modifications.
The die filer set consists of four fully annealed iron castings and drawings for machining and assembly. The finished table size is 6” by 6”; the file stroke is 3/4”; a typical file length is 3” to 6” with a maximum 3/8” diameter shank.
